Editing after the Dmoz crash: The same or not?

Well, there are some obviously different things since Dmoz was opened for editors to commence editing again, some of things you might have heard a lot about. So, no, it's not the same. One thing is the same though: some of those sites are still boring! But, of course I'd never tell the webmaster that. Of course we'd all like to think that we're not the only ones reading our on sites and there are plenty more taking an interest in what we have to say or offer. Well, yeah, maybe you and the Dmoz editor who has to read it.

Well, my 1 year Dmoz anniversary has come and gone. I was tempted to write a post about about 2 weeks later, but, darn, I was just too lazy. I actually began typing the post and decided to quit because I wanted to browse the Internet instead. But, now, I'll say it: My 1 year Dmoz anniversary has come and gone. It certainly doesn't seem like I've been editing for Dmoz for 1 whole year. I'm still very much a newbie editor. I'm also very disappointed to see that after 1 year I only have a little over 2,000 total edits. How pathetic! And, this is coming from someone with big plans to take over Dmoz, oh, I mean to move up the Dmoz editor ladder. I guess I'll have to edit more than 3 sites a weeks to reach my supreme Dmoz goal. Hahah, all the time I have to spend over the Internet and very little of it goes to editing. Not to mention that post crash I'm editing even fewer sites. I'm less enthusiastic of editing since the editing was restored. I blame it on those boring sites I have to review. Sometimes reviewing sites is just plain boring. I'm actually thinking about taking some times off from editing then coming back with new, improved editing energy. Those damn boring sites!

Anyway, back to my editing statistics. It looks like I'm going to have to reevaluate my goals and make them a little more realistic based on how much I edit. Unless I get more enthusiastic about editing, then I'd say it'll take me about 3 years on a more conservative scale to reach editall status. I'm banking on about 2 more years at my current rate.
