I just got approve for the last category I applied for, but instead of getting full privileges in the category, I was only granted greenbusting privileges. Greenbusting means I move and delete sites in un-reviewed, but I can't touch listed sites, and I can't list any sites in the category without another editor reviewing them first. I don't like greenbusting that much. But, I did have doubts about one of the sample sites I used on my application, so I was probably right about my doubts. When I checked my e-mail and saw the e-mail welcoming me to that section of the directory, I pretty much new that it was going to be either greenbusting privileges or to give me constructive feedback on the sites I submitted. After reading the e-mail, I still don't know what's wrong with the sites I submitted. I think it might be only one of the three sites that don't belong in the category. I'll have to take time this weekend to re-review my sample sites and look over similar categories again to find out what's wrong.
Of course, the easiest thing to do is to quite the category and apply for full permissions in another one, since I don't like greenbusting. But, since I eventually want to master most of the sections in Dmoz, I think I'll stick around and try to learn something while greenbusting. I'll look at all of the sites in the category (nearly 100) and take some kind of action with them. Hopefully, soon, I'll gain full permissions in the category.
Until them, I'm going to start looking for another category to apply to. I keep a list in a text document on my computer of categories I want to eventually apply to. Maybe next week I'll send in an application for another category.

FINALLY! I've been accepted to another category!
It only took about 3 weeks for Dmoz to approve me for another category, but it finally came. After 2 weeks of waiting I had actually stopped waiting and expected it to take awhile. Well, I waited so long that I decided to apply for another category in a different branch of the directory, so I had two outstanding editor applications for different categories. Now, I'm just waiting for my second application to be approved or rejected.
I submitted 3 sample sites with my last application this time, instead of only 2 sites. Hopefully, it'll be approved or declined within a weeks time, but I'm not betting anything on it. With my last application I wasn't so sure about 1-2 of the sites I gave, so I wouldn't be surprised if I get rejected for that category, although I hope I don't. It was kind of boring looking for sites for the cat., but I did it anyway because I wanted to apply for it. Plus, I had no choice but to look for sites since there's no other way to edit in the category, besides asking for greenbusting privileges, which I wouldn't have to supply sample sites.
Hopefully, this weekend I'll have my newest category in tip top shape so that I can apply for a sister category. And, hopefully, I'll have my latest application approved, too, by the time I'm finished.
I'm trying to edit in different branches of the directory so I can try something new instead of always editing the same ole' lame categories in the same ole' lame parts of the directory; I like to switch it up a bit.

Two weeks and still waiting
It's been exactly two weeks since I've been waiting for my application to edit another category to be reviewed. Last week, I took the time to try to find sites for another category to apply, but it became too time-consuming to I quit searching after finding nothing for a few hours. If my application still hasn't been reviewed by next week, then I'll look again for some sites to apply with for a completely different category.
Editing in the same categories is getting kind of boring. I wanna switch it up a bit and edit somewhere new for a change. But, I'll keep editing the same categories until I hear back on my editor applications. It should be no lie that current editors have to wait for their applications to be reviewed as much as a non-editor has to wait for his new application to be reviewed.
